Founder of Sacred Stories
Hi, my name is Edward, and I’m the founder of Sacred Stories. Sacred Stories was created with the vision of helping bridge the gap in the underrepresentation of people of colour in mental health.
Within psychotherapy, there is a significant shortage of Black psychotherapists — and an even greater shortage of Black male psychotherapists. Seeing this need has driven me to do my part in helping fill that gap.
As a first-generation Canadian with roots in Ghana, I bring both lived experience and culturally informed care into my clinical work. Supporting clients from communities that are often overlooked has been deeply meaningful.
Your Story is Valid and Worthy of Being Told
Sacred (Latin “Sacer”): Deserving respect, highly valued, important
Story (Latin “Historia”): an account of past events in someone’s life or in the evolution of something
Sacred Stories Psychotherapy is a private psychotherapy practice dedicated to helping individuals explore, understand, and reclaim the stories that have shaped their lives. Many people seek therapy during times of pain, transition, or uncertainty—when familiar ways of coping no longer feel supportive, or when past experiences begin to feel overwhelming in the present.
Grounded in compassion and clinical integrity, Sacred Stories offers a safe and respectful space where clients can engage in therapeutic work at their own pace. Reclaiming one’s story is not about erasing the past, but about developing greater awareness, choice, and agency in the present. Through a collaborative and intentional therapeutic process, clients are supported in reclaiming authorship of their lives and shaping the chapters they are currently living with greater clarity and self-trust.
